Travel for Good
Travel changed my life. Not in the Instagram-caption way. In the real way.
The kind of change that happens when you're lost in a market in Ecuador and no one speaks your language and you figure it out anyway. The kind that happens when your kids watch you navigate a situation you definitely didn't plan for — and they learn that the world is big and they are capable. The kind that happens when you stop being a tourist and start being a guest.
I've traveled to 25 countries and 36 states. I've navigated logistics for so many groups. I've brought my teenagers to places most people wouldn't bring their luggage. I've traveled solo as a woman and come home more whole every single time. And I have never once stayed inside the bubble.
Here's what I believe: travel is good for your soul. Getting out of your comfort zone is good for your soul. But it's also good - and important - to give back to the places that are giving so much to you. Not just your tourist dollars. Something real.
I have a BA in Adventure Education from Prescott College, where my classroom was the backcountry - backpacking, rock climbing, rafting, and leading others through it all. I'm a Colorado Outward Bound alum. I understand risk. I understand logistics. And I understand the difference between a trip that looks good in photos and a trip that actually changes you.
One of the best compliments I've ever received came from someone who traveled with me on a Print the Love trip. She told me, "I will never travel the same again because of you, Ceallaigh. I always just stuck to the resorts, but now my whole world has been opened up."
That's what I want for you.
What I'm offering right now.
I'm currently offering 1:1 consulting for people and families who want to make a social impact while they travel. Maybe you're heading to Honduras with your family and want to find an ethical, meaningful way to give back while you're there. Maybe you're planning a group trip and want it to be about more than sightseeing. Tell me where you're going and I'll help you find something real.
This is where I'll start. Where it evolves - I'll let you know.
In the meantime - follow me on Instagram.
I get asked constantly by friends how I find the flights, how I pick the Airbnbs, how I pace a trip so it doesn't feel like a marathon, how I save money on food, how I travel with kids and stay sane. I'm starting to share all of it there - the tips, the tricks, the philosophy. If you want to travel better, that's the place to be.
And if you want to talk about a specific trip? Email me. I'd love to hear where you're going.
